  1. Dental Hygiene Program. Leave the world a cleaner place every day. As a dental hygienist, you'll remove soft and hard deposits from teeth, teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene, and provide other preventive dental care.

Hygienists examine patients' teeth and gums and record the presence of diseases or abnormalities. They remove calculus, stains, and plaque from teeth; take and develop dental x rays; and apply cavity-preventive agents such as fluorides. Occasionally you'll work alongside the dentist.
  2. Dentist School for Dental Assistants. Another type of online degree prepares you to be a Dental Assistant. Duties might include:
    • Taking and developing x-rays
    • Taking the patient's medical history, blood pressure and pulse
    • Preparing and sterilizing instruments
    • Making patients feel comfortable
  3. Medical Technician. Two of the types of medical technician careers you can prepare for with an online degree are:
    • Medical Laboratory Technician: perform everything from a simple blood test to complex tests that diagnose diseases such as cancer. Look for bacteria or abnormal cells, analyze chemical content and more.
    • Medical Records Technician: take care of all records of a patient's symptoms, treatments and medical history. Be a vital member of the healing team.
  4. Pharmacy School. Another online degree prepares you to be a Pharmacy Technician. Learn to help licensed pharmacists by performing routine tasks such as counting tablets and labelling bottles. Job opportunities are good. Two thirds of all jobs are in pharmacies.
