Target Marketing - A Vital Tool for Business to Business Marketing

Business to business marketing involves a range of techniques. Properly researched target marketing will always glean a better response than a random advertising campaign.

Recent statistics suggest that emailing a well-researched list using target marketing can generate spectacular responses of up to one in three people. I will cover this in more detail in my articles on Internet marketing.

Types of E-mail Marketing

There are three types of email marketing, which can be used both for individuals and in business-to-business marketing:
  • SPAM. This is the type of email marketing that gives the process a bad name. So-called spams are unsolicited commercial emails (UCEs) that clog up your inbox. Companies can gain your email address without your knowledge when you visit their site. This is just one form of Internet marketing.
  • Opt-in. This involves regularly mailing a targeted list of email addresses that have previously given permission. You usually gain your lists using other forms of Internet marketing. Not surprisingly, this is generally more successful than SPAM. If you have visited several online education sites, you may well opt-in for regular updates.
  • Newsletter Marketing. Using newsletters with opt-in marketing is particularly successful. Loading your promotional emails with articles and facts relevant to the business can be far more successful than singing the praises of your own company.
We have only touched the iceberg on e-mail marketing and business-to-business marketing. If this has fired your interest, there is a wide range of online marketing education programs available to suit your level, lifestyle and job.
